Sculptures made from reclaimed stone and resin handmade by Quintessence in Ivybridge, Devon

Devon born Sculptor Tess interprets domestic and wild animals in cast stone. She lives in the Erme Valley near Ivybridge, and set up her Riverside Studio in 1994.
Using the colours of mainly local powdered stone as her palette, Tess creates tactile sculptures. Her distinctive method of bonding the natural coloured stone within each figure, rather than painting the colours on afterwards, results in an individual polished stone finish.
