Derek Hayward – Glass Artist
Derek has lived in Devon all his life, born in Plymouth the son of a Master Mariner from whom he has inherited a love of seascapes and now resides in Torquay with his wife.
Following a career in finance, Derek took a course in Stained Glass in 2000 and discovered that he had a real talent and enthusiasm for the process. He now devotes his time to developing beautiful Glass Jewellery and Art work, using Dichroic, Stained and Fused Glass.
Derek's designs vary from abstract to land and seascapes, very often the designs have been influenced by the colour and shapes within the glass that he is working with.
